Most people don’t decide on a new job just because of the job itself. It’s important when choosing a career and a job to focus on your family’s needs and your preferred lifestyle and values. Where and how you and your family want to live are extremely important factors. Sometimes no job is worth a move from a place that has been happy
for you and your family. Lots of travel, long hours, and undue pressure can affect you and your family, whether or not you still have children at home. You should also consider the opportunity to pursue interests that may become more important to you as retirement approaches.
Look at your work experience and your community involvement to help clarify your priorities. Analyze each position for what you like doing, what environments you’ve been most happy in, and what kinds of people you’ve been most comfortable with.
