Professional organizations are often founded to assist people with specific skills, from specific communities, such as the Cuban American CPA Association, an organization of accounting professionals in Miami— or the Asian American Journalists Association. Because these groups are self-profiling, they are the best places to start an active search.
First, to find the organization—we’ll build a string that searches for descriptive cultural and skill keywords, across all organizations AND (Hispanic OR Latino) AND (engineer OR programmer OR software).
Pay dirt! In our first result set, we see a link to the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers.
Let’s X-ray the site. Remember our organization “people” words?
We’re looking for documents containing the words “members”, “officers”, “speakers”, and others that imply people’s names will be there, too.
