BE READY FOR TOUGH QUESTIONS

Generally, recruiters and hiring executives ask different types of questions. The Hiring Manager is focused on the job, how well the candidate’s skills and experience match the job’s requirements, and how well the candidate is likely to fit into the company. Recruiters are more interested in a candidate’s work history and his personal characteristics.

Here are some typical questions asked by the hiring managers and others asked by recruiters. Select about 10 in each group, and write out rough answers. Don’t memorize the answers. Tape your answers and listen to them to make sure that you’re responding to the questions clearly and confidently. Test your answers on a friend. Ask him
to listen to your taped answers and critique them. If you run into a key question you’re not prepared for, add it to your list.
