Evaluating Your Technical Abilities

Strong pertinent knowledge is crucial to any job. In preparing your resume, remember that increasingly employers are using computerized scanners to profile and screen candidates for many jobs, particularly technical ones. They search for indications of technical capabilities, such as numbers and technical terms. If you’re looking for a technical job, design your resume so it’s in line with a Hiring Manager’s likely preferences. To do that, evaluate your technical qualifications as a Hiring Manager would:
Are your technical qualifications up to date?
Are you skilled in the technical requirements needed one year from now? Are you the type that’s also likely to be current three years from now?
Do you present your technical qualifications effectively to semi technical people such as recruiters and hiring managers?
Do you present your qualifications effectively to technical people, such as senior scientists and engineers?
Are you likely to be accepted personally by the technical people?
