  • Salary: £48000 - £50000 / Year + Pension


To manage all functions within the Distribution Centre, in an efficient and cost effective manner. Liaise with Site Managers, Supervisors and Team Leaders. Externally liasing with 3rd Party carriers, contractors and other department heads.

Key Duties:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the warehousing and distribution operation
  • Ensure that service levels in respect of SLA and KPI targets are accurately measured and reported
  • Managing of workflow ensuring accuracy of timescales/objectives to budgetary compliance
  • Develop tactical response to customer demand and expectation
  • Monitor, assess and review shift performance by team/individual
  • Liaise with 3rd Party carriers, contractors, etc
  • Develop and implement initiatives to continuously improve operational performance and service offering
  • Pro-active in your approach, you will recommend and lead operational change
  • Compilation/analysis of daily, weekly and monthly reports
  • Ensure Inventory accuracy in all departments of the DC
  • Ensure compliance with current Health and Safety legislation
  • Ensure compliance with legislation affecting the Company - e.g. Weee, Battery Regulations, Packaging Regulations, etc
  • Show commitment to the continuous development of all team members through regular appraisal and reviews
  • Creative approach to problem solving and 'to think outside the box'
  • Strong analytic and decision making abilities 
  • May recruit and recommend appointment up to Management level
  • May recommend disciplinary action, including dismissal, to Supervisory level in line with Company policy
  • Responsible for up to 150+ staff through a team of Managers, Supervisors and Team Leaders


  • Educated to a high standard with good written and numerical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office


  • Proven leader with experience of managing a complex DC
  • Highly motivated and experienced Manager
  • "Hands On" Operational experience with the ability to plan and operate strategically
  • Site start up, e-commerce fulfilment experiences an advantage
  • Proven track record within a large FMCG operation with a minimum 5 years' experience
  • Experience and knowledge of continuous improvement principles and methodologies
  • Experience of integrated business systems/WMS
  • Experience of managing change and able to demonstrate high levels of productivity attainment
  • Strong inventory management skills
  • Reliable, flexible, customer focussed and able to communicate at all levels
  • Demonstrate a strong awareness of and Commitment to Ethics & Compliance and the Group Business Conduct Guidelines.
