Key responsibilities:         

  • To support end to end life cycle of large IT Outsourcing opportunities for UK and Ireland.
  • Role will also require to be part of other activities such as understanding commercial deal models, performing basic data and information analysis tasks and engaging with other groups.
  • Responsible to manage small team of bid co-ordinators and technical authors in future

Key Skills / Knowledge:

  • A proven track record of leading large multi tower outsourcing bids from start to finish.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Significant experience of work with globally distributed teams including solution leads, delivery owners, commercial modellers and technology architects
  • Broader understanding of UK & Ireland corporate companies
  • Management of the production of winning large deals through full bid lifecycle from inception to contract signing.
  • Definition and implementation of bid strategies ensuring a breakdown of requirements and coordination of all solution contractual and commercial aspects of the estimation and proposal creation process
  • Preparation, review and coordination of compelling response documentation ensuring high levels of consistency and quality, that adequately captures integrated proposal
  • Preparation of all review meeting materials and coordination of the close-out of all actions where required for individual contributors
  • Provision of leadership to the globally distributed bid team and allocated business resources, influencing and negotiating with people at all levels, including providing progress reports to management
  • Involvement in pre and post bid submission negotiations with the client sourcing/procurement team  encompassing technical, financial and commercial considerations, acting as the client single point of contact in relation to the bid
  • Production and delivery of presentations (internal and external to the client) up to board level
  • Responsible for transferring knowledge from the bid team to the Delivery team, verifying the scopeand achieving integrated handover to Delivery
  • Implement improvement in organisational processes and standards in relation to bid management

Experience Required:

  • Previously, or currently, occupying the position of Senior Bid Manager, Senior Project Director, or Senior Programme Manager in outsourced managed serviced delivery environment
  • Able to manage the delivery of large bids through TCS bid management procedures, including parallel approval work streams (e.g. financial, technical, commercial etc.)
  • Experience leading bids in excess of £25m, and managing bid budgets in excess of £1m(
  • Commercially astute, and able to structure a bid to present the offer with an integrated view
  • Previous experience of handling team and deliver in a globally distributed environment
  • Strong customer focus, able to manage complex negotiations with the client when required
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with people at all levels within TCS abd client sourcing organisations
  • High degree of mobility to spend a time away from the London base office as required
  • A pro-active high achiever with high energy levels, who is used to working under pressure and to tight/challenging deadlines
  • Shipley certification, Prince2 or MSP is preferred
